Pains During Intercourse Why It Happens And What You Can Do

Painful intercourse also know as Dyspareunia or Vaginismus. If you are one of the women that suffer from pains during intercourse then this article is an absolute must read as the answer to your sexual pain issues could be just a few short paragraphs away. when asked I do not think that many would argue that the whole purpose of having sex in the first place is to bring please to both parties. Inversely when there is unnecessary pain present during intercourse the entire process can become very problematic. This is a bigger problem that many may think as many women feel that they just have to bite the bullet because there are no widely publicized cures for these conditions and if you have pain in what is supposed to bring you pleasure you could find yourself in a state of depression.

It has been proven that women that have painful sex feel a sense of inadequacy and sometimes believe that they are dysfunctional. These conditions are very hard for them to understand themselves, let alone explain what is going on to their doctors or sexual partners. To make matter worst when women with these conditions see their doctors  to treat these problem they will be required to tell them exactly where the pain is coming from and what position, sexual activity and so on caused it. This task is a lot easier than it sounds and is perhaps the main reason women that are suffering from painful intercourse try to just deal with and do not seek medical help at all.

Dyspareunia and Vaginismus has also been known to create a sense of hopelessness that affects other aspects of their lives negatively.

What is the cure for painful sex?

Unfortunately there is no one-shot answer or quick fix to these problems, but we must face the fact that complicated problems often have complicated solutions.  Let’s look at a few of the causes of Dyspareunia and Vaginismus.  Typically there are two areas the inside and outside of the pelvic organs that are affected by by these two conditions. On the outer area there is the following:

Pelvic Inflammation

•        An Ovarian Cyst.

•        Endometriosis.

•        Diverticular disease.

•        Uterine fibroids.

And on the inside there is:

•        Vulvar trauma (from post pregnancy)

•        Female Sexual Arousal Deficit.

•        Vaginitis

•        Perineal tears.

•        Vaginismus

What is Vaginismus exactly? Vaginismus is yet another condition that causes pain from the pelvic muscles by producing spasmodic contractions.  This pain is generally triggered anytime an object is put inside the vagina. The body forces involuntary contractions, which can become so painful that sex is not an option. Beyond stopping the women that have Vaginismus from enjoying intercourse it also prevents them from using tampons, the tools that doctors use the check the vaginal area and etc. Dyspareunia and Vaginismus treatments can be very complicated and will definitely need to be administered by your doctor and in due time the treatments can help eliminate this problem altogether. When you’re pursuing this type of treatment be sure to enter into it with an open mind and be prepared to have a lot of patience. I hope this information has been useful.
